Stephen Gianotti, M.S., B.Ed.
Stephen Gianotti brings a rare tri-focus to his work: a deep understanding of the individual leader, the people being led, and the living system within which leadership unfolds. As founder of The Woodland Group LLC, a global organizational development firm that has served over 500 organizations across five continents, he has spent decades helping leaders and organizations move from reactive patterns to purposeful, sustainable change. A TEDx Speaker selected for the TEDxPortsmouth stage at the largest TEDx venue in the world, and one of only four talks from that event chosen for posting on TEDx International, Stephen brings both global reach and hard-won practical wisdom to everything he does.
Drawing on over 30 years of experience in executive coaching, organizational diagnostics, and systems thinking, Stephen's approach is grounded in Transformational Dialogue techniques, a methodology he developed through a six-year apprenticeship with Dr. Daniel Kim, and shaped by mentors including Peter Senge, Edgar Schein, and Margaret Wheatley. He is certified in nine business and leadership assessments and holds a Master's in Business Education alongside a self-designed undergraduate degree in Teaching Through the Use of the Arts.
As a co-author of three books on mentoring and a longtime champion of collaborative leadership, Stephen currently serves as Board Chair for the Global Association of the Society for Organizational Learning, connecting communities across the globe in pursuit of ethical, humane, and sustainable leadership. His publications extend beyond the boardroom: he has contributed photography to award-winning regional histories of coastal New Hampshire, appeared in the Best of Photography Annual, and been published in two national poetry anthologies.
